Vanessa Nakate visits Horizon International School for a climate change talk.

On Tuesday 11th January 2022, Horizon International school Uganda had the pleasure to host Ms. Vanessa Nakate, a renowned international climate change activist for a ‘Climate Change and Environment Care’ talk with our students.

“I have had the opportunity to speak to students about the climate issues, but not just about the challenges that we face when it comes to the climate crisis but also the power of their voices & actions in transforming this world.” She said.

“Every student out there should always know that no one is too small to make a difference and no action is too small to transform the world.” She added.

Other than speaking to the students, Vanessa Nakate enjoyed a guided tour around our premises, shared a lunch with our senior students and also planted a tree at ours to re-echo the message of climate action among other activities.

She urged students to undertake educational and public awareness campaigns on climate change, and to engage in programs both in and outside school that will aid in making the world a better place for us all.

Vanessa Nakate is a climate activist from Uganda .
