Upper Primary Assembly

Yesterday saw our Upper Primary students perform a spectacular assembly under the theme: OUR CLIMATE, OUR FUTURE. The theme being no coincidence to the fact that yesterday, 20th September 2019, was the first day of Global  #WeekForFuture,  A movement led by children to demand global climate action, raise awareness about climate change and ensure a healthy planet for generations to come.

Our Horizon students did just that, performing presentations, poems, dance skits and powerful spoken word pieces to educate and demand climate action to ensure a brighter future for all. To round the presentation off our guest speaker John Hilary from ‘Girls for Climate’ spoke about the importance of trees in fighting the effects of climate change. On this note primary students and parents planted their very own trees in the Horizon compound, playing their part in preventing the damaging effects of climate change.

Our assembly was registered on www.fridaysforfuture.org , and sits alongside all the other global events that took place yesterday as part of the international children’s movement to take action against climate change.

We appreciate everyone who participated in the event.
