Trip to SCOUL

The year 1, 2 & 3 students went for a field trip to SCOUL on the 25th of January 2018.

The students set off from school after break at 9:50 am and arrived at 11:00 am and were accompanied by six supervisors; four teachers and two assistant teachers.

Since the students are of a very young age, they were not allowed to go through the entire production process. However, the management of SCOUL was kind enough to allow them view the start and the end of the sugar making process. They were able to see how sugarcane is offloaded from the trucks and tractors using cranes. They were especially excited to see the automated crane.

Safety comes first at SCOUL!!! The entire group was given helmets for safety during the factory tour.

The students were also taken to the beautiful greenhouses of Uganda Hortech Limited. Here they saw the beautiful roses that are exported to Holland and how they are prepared for exportation.

A big thank you to SCOUL for hosting us and teaching us about the sugar making process.

We are looking forward to our next trip!!!!
