The Early Years classes at Horizon College Jinja a have modern facilities and the latest technology. They are also in a prime location which is conducive to learning. We have an experienced team of qualified staff who are passionate about facilitating learning for Kindergarten Two (2-3 years), Kindergarten Three (3-4 years) and Reception (4-5 years) classes.
At Horizon College Jinja, the Primary level offers a flexible curriculum with Cambridge Integrated assessment for children aged 5 to 11. Our teaching focuses on learners’ development in each year and provides a natural progression throughout the 6 years of primary education.
All students in the Secondary School are prepared for external examinations set and marked by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), the world’s leading provider of British-system international examinations. Students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9, ages 11 to 14) are prepared for the Cambridge Checkpoint tests in English, mathematics and science. In addition, students study courses French, geography, history, business studies, ICT, art, Turkish or extra English, music, PE and sports.
At Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11, ages 14 to 16) students prepare to take up to a maximum of nine subjects in the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Following their Key Stage 3 years, students study English, mathematics, science, French/Turkish and geography/history. In addition, students may opt to take business studies, art, ICT, music, English literature and P.E.
A Level & AS Level
Students in Years 12 and 13 (ages 16 to 18) study up to four subjects at AS level in Year 12 and three full A level subjects in Year 13 to qualify them for entry to universities worldwide. Cambridge International AS and A Levels are very flexible. Learners have the freedom to select the subjects that are right for them, they can either follow a broad course of study, or specialise in a particular area. Horizon College Jinja offers a wide variety of subjects, from the arts to the sciences and many more. Every year, thousands of Cambridge International A level students gain places at good universities worldwide- including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Africa.
