Horizon College Jinja invited parents to give them information about the school systems.
First and foremost, The Principal of the school, Mr. Mehmet Koylu, spoke about the growth of the school and new developments that included; the facilities, academics and co-curricular activities planned for the academic year 2016/17. He introduced the National Olympiads that we are yet to organise and the International Olympiads we shall be participating in. In addition, he spoke about the events we will be organising at Horizon College Jinja for our students.
The Vice-Principal, Mr. Mehmet Adsan then introduced the School Information System, COOLSIS, which is used via browsers, Mobile application both IOS and Android system. This system provides a network among students, parents, teachers and the school administration.
Ms Laura, the Primary Coordinator, in addition informed the parents about the latest developments and changes in the primary section which were all done for the benefit of the students and parents.
Ms Emilie, the English language teacher for Early years, gave a presentation about using the play-way methods and techniques in use for our Kindergarten. She also introduced the KG staff who have a motherly attitude towards the toddlers.
In the same light, Mr. Owora, the Secondary Coordinator gave detailed information about Cambridge International Examinations. He further stressed how important it is to be disciplined right from wearing a student school uniform to conduct while at school.
The school has also introduced clubs for both primary and secondary sections. No fee however has been administered for most of the clubs save for the Robotics club.
It was crowned by a ‘meet and greet’ between parents, administrators and teachers.
