Mathemania

Mathemania is an annual puzzle contest held in Horizon College Jinja on 5th November 2016. We had a wonderful Mathemania Contest with over 600 participants from over 70 schools of Jinja, Kampala, Lugazi, Iganga and other regions. Mathemania was in two categories; primary and secondary.

It consists of puzzles that assess students’ visual/spatial, counting, arithmetic, pattern finding and logical/reasoning skills.
The questions in Mathemania are grouped in to 5 categories:
• Arithmetic; where understanding of numeral skills are assessed.
• Visual/ Spatial; where visual skills are required.
• Counting; where students are required to use a systematic way to count.
• Pattern; where discovery of different level patterns is expected.
• Logical Reasoning; where students use their logical skills to tackle the problems.

Top 20 students from each category will be announced on school website (horizon.ac.ug) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HorizonMathemania/), (https://www.facebook.com/HorizonCollegeJinjaUganda). Horizon College Jinja will invite the winners on Saturday 12th November, 2016 for Awarding Ceremony.

We thank all the school, participants, teachers and their families for their valuable support.
We meet again Mathemania 2017.
